Breadcrumbs | Turtle

If you’re a Designer, you no doubt have breadcrumb designs within your portfolio, which perhaps haven’t been published or used by a particular client. These aren’t necessarily rejected designs, but crumbs leftover from a project. I present to you today, my first breadcrumbs, Turtles from Taptivate.
I was commissioned by Oliver in September 2009, to create a Turtle character for his now released, Voices application. Over the coming weeks, the character began to take shape and was released to Oliver before the month’s end.
As development pushed forward, so did the design brief, resulting in David Lanham taking creative lead – and doing a fabulous job I might add. So, the Turtle character fell by the wayside and became breadcrumbs on the design table, but as Oliver himself said:
“You have a different style to most icon designers, can’t quite put my finger on it but it works really well.”
It’s really not so bad… and he was generous enough to allow me to release the character to the community, so he doesn’t go to waste.

Welcome to Jelly Labs, version 2!

I wish you a very warm and gracious welcome, to my renovated home – Jelly Labs version 2.
She has been in the making since Summer ’09, collaborating along the way with some of the best Designers the world has to offer: David Lanham; Na Wong; and Alberto Calvo. I thank them kindly, they were wonderful to work alongside and helped me build the beautiful website you see before you today.
It’s been a hectic year – we moved home, got a third pup and both my Husband and I, acquired new, now permanent, jobs. The Jelly Labs overhaul fell by the wayside for some months, whilst I made myself comfortable and settled into my day job – Visual Designer at Sourcebits. I apologise for how long you have had to wait to peek under the Wizard’s curtain, but I hope it was worth it and you like what you see! I would love to hear your feedback, so feel free to comment or contact me and let me know your thoughts.
Head on over to the Goodies page to download your past favourite icons, and a couple of new ones, more packs will be released over the coming months. I was hoping to release a new pack alongside the launch, but I haven’t managed to find the time to do so as of yet. There are however, a couple of single icons – you won’t have seen before 
.
